Singapore, 22 October 2018 – Indonesia flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia further strenghten its regional network by launching its new route Singapore – Tanjung Pandan starting on 29th October 2018 this year. The Singapore – Tanjung Pandan new service will be served 4x per week and operated by Garuda Indonesia’s all-economy class configuration aircraft, Bombardier CRJ – 1000.
VP Asia Region of Garuda Indonesia, I Wayan Subagia said that the new service is inline with the airline’s commitment as the national flag carrier to boost tourism growth especially to support the Ministry of Tourism of Republic Indonesia to strengthen the top 10 destinations beyond Bali in which one of them is Tanjung Kelayang, Belitung.
It is a part of the company’s strategy to expand Garuda Indonesia’s international network as well as part of its effort to further strengthen its connectivity in Southeast Asia region.
Singapore is considered as an international transportation hub, as well as the tourism hub for Indonesia. With this less than an hour direct flight from Singapore, Belitung is the perfect shortgetaway destination ” Said Wayan.
“We believe this new service will stimulate the growth of business and trade in the region, especially now Tanjung Pandan is considered to be one of a Special Economic Zones, as well as one of 10 prioritised National Tourism Destinations because of its exotic similar beaches to those in the Maldives, and it expected to become the second Bali.” Wayan added.
The Singapore-Tanjung Pandan service will be departed from Singapore Changi Airport at 17.20 LT on 1,3,5 and 17.30 on 7 while it will arrive at Hanandjoeddin International Airport in Tanjung Pandan at 17.50 WIB on 1,3,5 and 18.00 WIB on 7. The return flight will be depart from Hanandjoeddin International Airport in Tanjung Pandan at 14.50 WIB and arrive at Singapore Changi Airport at 16.20 LT.
Currently Garuda Indonesia serves 84 flights per week to and from Singapore to cities in Indonesia such as Singapore – Jakarta (9x daily), Singapore – Surabaya (daily), and Singapore – Denpasar (2x daily).
