Garuda Indonesia wins Superbrands 2008/2009

After being nominated as "The Most Ideal Company 2008" in the 'transportation' category in mid November, Garuda Indonesia was again nominated for an award, the SUPERBRANDS 2008/2009 which was presented to Garuda Indonesia's EVP Commercial Agus Priyanto at the Hotel Gran Melia, Jakarta, on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.

The Superbrands award was given to Garuda Indonesia for several reasons; having a strong brand and meeting the required criteria, such as successful market domination, popularity with the public, the ability to earn the consumers' trust, the ability to attract, convince consumers and easy brand availability. In addition, Garuda Indonesia's brand possesses significant qualities that set it apart from other similar brands.

A series of surveys and researches of Indonesia's best brands, conducted by the "Superbrand Indonesia Council (SIC)" 2008/2009 team, which consisted of top business executives and professional businessmen, led to Garuda Indonesia's award nomination, along with thirty-six other prominent companies.

Superbrands is an international independent body headquartered in London, UK with branches in over 80 countries. Each year, it awards prominent brands for a number of reason, among others brand's market domination, brand's popularity, consumers' satisfaction and loyalty towards brand, as well as brand's distinguishing qualities.

Throughout 2008, Garuda Indonesia won a number of other awards, consecutively, namely: Call Center Award 2008, Service Quality Award 2008, Indonesia's Most Admired Companies (IMAC 2008), Indonesia's Best Brand Award (IBBA 2008), E-Company Award, as well as the Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award (ICSA 2008)
