Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez Visits Garuda Indonesia

Tuesday, 13 Oktober 2008 - Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez, accompanied by Putri Indonesia 2009, Qori Sandioriva, visited the Garuda Indonesia Head Office at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport where they were received by Garuda Indonesia President & CEO, Emirsyah Satar, at the new Management Building. Also present to welcome them were several distinguished guests; the Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Titin Sukarya, the Ambassador of Venezuela to Indonesia, HE Maria Virginia Menzones Liccioni, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, MS Hidayat, Counselors from several foreign representatives, and other invitees from the business, hospitality and tourism circles.

Miss Universe's visit was by invitation from Garuda Indonesia on the occasion of the re-launching of the "Garuda Indonesia Experience" which is a new concept of service introduced by the airline that combines warm Indonesian hospitality with a commitment to safety and security, and efficiently delivered by professionals.

During her time in Indonesia, Miss Fernandez will also enjoy the opportunity to travel to various cities in Indonesia by courtesy of Garuda Indonesia, in order to see the beauty of the land and its fascinating cultures and subsequently introduce them to the rest of the world.

In cooperation with Yayasan Putri Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia took the initiative to invite the winner of annual Miss Universe Pageant to come to Indonesia as part of efforts to promote tourism by encouraging visitors to
come and experience Indonesia first hand.

After the re-launching of the "Garuda Indonesia Experience", Miss Universe 2009, Stefania Fernandez, and Putri Indonesia 2009, Qori Sandioriva, were invited on a brief tour to see up close Garuda Indonesia's newest fleet
addition, the A330-200 and B-737-800NG, already resplendent in a new livery that exude the spirit of 'nature's wing'. As part of the service offered on the aircraft include a sophisticated in-flight entertainment
system, such as an "audio & video on demand (avod)" placed on each seat as well as a choice of in-flight movies and TV programs, a selection of music albums and interactive video games.Jakarta, 13 October, 2009
