(Singapore, 3 February 2010): Indonesia's national airline, Garuda Indonesia, will receive 23 Boeing 737-800 Next Generation and one A330-200 aircraft this year, confirming the rapid expansion of its fleet as part of its five-year ‘Quantum Leap' transformation strategy. These 24 aircraft comprise nearly half of the 50 Boeing 737-800NGs that the carrier currently has on firm order.

Garuda Indonesia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to provide its passengers with the opportunity to offset their carbon generated from flying. Garuda Indonesia is the first airline in continent to join the program. The MoU signed by President & CEO Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar dan Director General & CEO IATA Giovanni Bisignani at Green Pavillion, Singapore Airshow, Singapore, on February 2, 2010.
