Due to the downturn of the economic conditions in Europe which has not shown any improvement in this current time and has been affecting to the declining market (air transportation) both to and from Europe, as of March 1, 2012, Garuda Indonesia will reduce daily flights from Jakarta – Dubai – Amsterdam (Europe) from seven to four times a week. Garuda, then, fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Jakarta, and every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Amsterdam. To serve the Jakarta – Dubai – Amsterdam route, Garuda Indonesia operates an A330-200 with a capacity of 222 seats, consisting of 36 in business class and 186 in economy class).

PT Garuda Indonesia managed to book “unconsolidated revenue” IDR 22,29 trillion, and book to manage an income current period of IDR 725 billion during January – November 2011. Revenue-wise, Garuda experiences a 41,9 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year’s IDR 16,19 trillion. Meanwhile, income current period increased by 124 percent compared to last year’s IDR 323 billion. Since launching the Quantum Leap program, Garuda Indonesia has introduced various efficiency measures and expansion in the company’s operations which will see the airline progressing confidently till 2015.
