Business & Work Ethics

In 2011, Garuda Indonesia has established corporate values, as well Business Ethics and Work Ethics, based on the Decree of the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk No. JKTDZ/SKEP/50023/11 dated 11 March 2011.

Those Business Ethics and Work Ethics were improvement from the Code of Conduct, which was issued with the Decree of the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk No. JKTDZ/SKEP/50002/08 dated 14 January 2008 on Corporate Values and Code of Conduct of the Company’s Personnel. The improvements made were based on the feedback from the results of the process of internalization as well as recommendations from the GCG assessment in 2009.

The Corporate Business Ethics and Work Ethics are a compilation of do’s and don’ts for every personnel of the Company. The Business Ethics and Work Ethics are applied in:

  1. Relation with the Company’s colleagues.
  2. Relation with Customers, Shareholders, and Partners, as well as Competitors.
  3. Compliance, which includes Transparency in Communication and Financial Statements; Handling Conflict of Interests; Gratification Control; Protection of Company Assets and Corporate Confidential.
  4. Responsibility towards Society, Government and Environment.
  5. Upholding the Business Ethics and Work Ethics, which includes: Reporting Violations: Penalties For Violations; Socialization and the Integrity Pact.

 

Values, Business Ethics and Work Ethics are the Company’s Personnel responsibility, as stated by the President Director and President Commissioner of the Company in the book of Corporate Business Ethics and Work Ethics. And in accordance with the Decree of the President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk No. JKTDZ/SKEP/50023/11 dated 11 March 2011, every Company’s Personnel shall comprehend, implement and execute Business Ethics and Work Ethics and sign the Integrity Pact and Statement of Compliance to Company’s Ethics.

Internalization of corporate values and ethics is conducted intensively through various channels of communication, training programs and is integrated with the employee appraisal system. Socialization was conducted through the Company’s internal communication channels, both printed and electronic, and face-to-face discussion to all Units, at the Head Office as well as Branch Offices, and through training programs. In 2012, the number of employees who signed the Commitment of Compliance to Company’s Ethics has reached more than 4,000 persons from all profession and units. It means more than half the number of total employee of the Company.

The Company Indonesia implements whistleblowing system to help with the Management in upholding the Corporate Ethics. Through this system, all stakeholders are expected to report any ethical violations committed by the Company’s employees.

The Business Ethics, Work Ethics and whistleblowing system have been communicated  to Business Partners so they can help upholding the ethic in the Company and creating a clean and dignified business environment.
