Tangerang, 1 March 2020 - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia and its low-cost subsidiary Citilink Indonesia offers discount for several domestic routes starting on Sunday (1/3), following the issuance of a government incentive policy to lower the price of tickets to 10 priority tourist destinations. These destinations include Batam and Tanjung Pinang in Riau Islands, Bali, Yogyakarta, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, Malang in East Java, Manado in North Sulawesi, Lake Toba in North Sumatra and Tanjung Pandan in Bangka Belitung Islands.
President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra said that the airline welcomed and supported the policy and remained committed to helping boost the recovery of the country's tourism amid the coronavirus outbreak.
“The government initiative is also in line with our commitment to actively participate in boosting the recovery of the country's tourism amid the impact of coronavirus outbreak by promoting the government’s program through all Garuda Indonesia Group’s channels.”, Irfan continued.
The government policy allows Garuda Indonesia Group to offer discount for up to 50 percent to 10 tourist destinations for 3 months, starting March 1st until May 31st 2020.
Following the government ticket incentive policy, Garuda Indonesia Group offers discounted fares to 25 percent of the airlines’ total passengers for these routes, which translates to around 65,000 seats per month for Garuda Indonesia.
The discounted fares are available in all Garuda Indonesia Group channels.
