Today is a significant day for SkyTeam - it is 16 years since our alliance was founded by Aeroméxico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. Since June 22, 2000, SkyTeam has evolved and our future looks bright. Here are just a few reasons why.
We have five times the members now than when we started and our 20 global airlines are offering over 1,060 worldwide destinations this summer. We are not only focused on getting you where you need to go, but also, we are making real progress in getting you there more smoothly by investing in tools and technology that make traveling more convenient.
Customer service pioneers
One example is SkyPriority that was launched back in 2012, making SkyTeam the first alliance to offer aligned, branded priority benefits across our entire network. These services – including priority at check in, security, boarding and baggage collection – make travel smoother for Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers at more than 1,000 airports around the world. And we have not stopped there. Instead, we have launched our latest innovation, the SkyPriority Audit App, so you can keep us on our toes.
The App which was nine months in development, including a testing phase with more than 5,000 top Frequent Flyers, is now available in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese, with a further 11 languages coming this year. Download it to your smartphone and you can rate and review your SkyPriority experience at every step of your journey. It is another industry first from SkyTeam and will help airline members and customers ensure a more satisfying, consistent service level worldwide.
A social network
We have grown our social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Weibo and WeChat, keeping the conversation going with our customers. You can be sure we are listening to everything you have to say – good and bad – so get in touch. And if you want to find out the best caffè macchiato at Milan Linate Airport or how to get downtown in Dubai, we have over 2,000 SkyTips for more than 200 airports on Facebook, SkyTeam.com and the SkyTeam App, sharing travelers’ expertise with our online community.
Our network includes some of the most beautiful places on earth, from Ushuaia,
Argentina to the Masai Mara, Kenya – as well as all the world’s top business destinations. And we are revamping our online Round the World booking tool making it more intuitive and easier to use.
