SKYTEAM ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP

Amsterdam, June 11th 2015 - SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has announced the intended retirement of Chairman Leo van Wijk, with effect from the November 2015 Governing Board meeting. Mr. Van Wijk has been the Chairman of the alliance since June 2007 and will be succeeded by current SkyTeam Chief Executive Officer, Michael Wisbrun.

SkyTeam’s Governing Board has selected Perry Cantarutti as Chief Executive Officer of SkyTeam Airline Alliance Management, replacing Mr. Wisbrun. Currently Delta Air Lines’ Senior Vice President – Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Cantarutti will join SkyTeam effective September 1, 2015 for a two-month transition period with Mr. Wisbrun.

“Since 2007, the alliance has increased in size and scale to 20 members with an expansive global reach. As the alliance celebrates its 15th anniversary, our members have intensified cooperation across the globe,” said Leo Van Wijk.

The new leadership team will continue this work to deliver on our ‘Caring more about you’ promise, bringing seamless travel experience for our customers to a new level”.
