AMSTERDAM, June 11th, 2015 – Following a successful pilot yoga program in SkyTeam’s Exclusive Lounge at London’s Heathrow Airport, the global airline alliance has launched two new Yoga tutorials for passengers to enjoy wherever they are in the world and even at 30,000 feet.
Recognizing customers’ desire to stay fit and healthy on their travels, SkyTeam has teamed up with Amsterdam-based yoga teacher, Asaf Hacmon, who used his own experience as a frequent flyer to develop two easy-to-follow tutorials: one for the ground and one that can be followed in-flight. Each 15-minute program, developed exclusively for SkyTeam and its 20 members, features a series of yoga stretches and breathing techniques that are easy to follow, regardless of what passengers are wearing or their class of travel. Customers flying on 15 of SkyTeam’s 20 members will find a tutorial as part of the on-demand in-flight video content offered on board. Meanwhile, SkyTeam’s Yoga Studio concept at Heathrow will be extended to the alliance’s Sydney facility and the new Exclusive Lounge at Hong Kong that is scheduled to open later this year.
“For passengers using our routine while onboard, there’s no downward dog or plank involved, just very simple yoga exercises that don’t intrude on other passenger’s space,” said Fatima da Gloria, SkyTeam’s Brand and Communications Director. “Offering our customers the chance to relax and stay fit before and during a flight is another way we are contributing to a more seamless and enjoyable travel experience.”
SkyTeam’s dedicated yoga tutorials are available on the SkyTeam App and can be accessed offline, so passengers can enjoy them wherever they are in the world.
