Situated next to Botany Bay, the airport has three runways: the east-west, north-south, and third. As the busiest airport in Australia, Sydney Airport caters around 35 million passengers every year. In this airport, passengers go through one of the three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 for domestic flights that’s exclusively operated by an Australian airline.
Sightseeing in the beautiful city of Sydney can get more exciting at the Sydney Tower Eye. Located at the Sydney CBD’s Market Street between Pitt and Castlereagh Streets, the tower stands 309 metres tall. Designed by Australian architect Donald Crone, the first plans for Sydney Tower were unveiled in March of 1968. After constructions commenced in 1970, the tower was opened for public since 1981. For those who are not afraid of heights, you may want to try strolling on the Skywalk with glass floors looking 268 metres down on Sydney’s streets, with a 360-degree view of the city’s skyline and landmarks.
Observation Deck
A special feature of the Sydney Tower Eye is the Observation Deck, where you can have a bird’s eye view of the city. The Observation Deck sits 250 metres above the streets with a 360-degree panoramic views as far as 80 kilometres during clear skies. Installed at the observation deck are state-of-the-art multilingual touch displays that inform visitors interactively on the city’s famous landmarks, before they grab the mounted binoculars to get a closer look.
4D Cinemas
The latest feature to enjoy when visiting the Sydney Tower Eye is their 4D Cinemas experience. Here, visitors can watch the story of what makes Sydney the city it is today through a whole new perspective. Viewers are taken on a visual tour across the Sydney Harbour, its famous coastline, iconic landmarks, and events that shape the city. This experience also adds in-theatre effects such as wind, bubbles, and heat, further enhancing the experience. It is definitely one of the most exciting ways to experience Sydney!
