GARUDA INDONESIA RECEIVES CHANGI AIRLINE AWARDS 2015 & INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COOPERATION AWARDS 2015

Garuda Indonesia once again gained international recognition, this time for significant passenger growth at two world-class airports in the Southeast Asia and East Asia regions, namely Changi International Airport Singapore and Incheon International Airport in South Korea.
 
Garuda Indonesia won the Changi Airline Awards for the category of “TOP Airline by absolute growth in passenger carriage for Southeast Asia category 2014”. Changi International Airport CEO, Lee Seow Hiang presented the award to Garuda Indonesia President & CEO, M. Arif Wibowo on 23 April 2015 in Singapore. The award was based on the remarkable growth of Garuda Indonesia passengers at Changi Airport throughout 2014 compared to other international airlines from the Southeast Asia region serving Changi International Airport
 
Apart from Garuda Indonesia, other airlines that won the Changi Airline Awards 2015 were Korean Air for the East Asia category, Emirates for the Middle East, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for Europe.
 
Only one day before, on 22 April 2015, Garuda Indonesia was voted “The Best Airline Of The Year 2014 Award Group D”. Garuda Indonesia General Manager for South Korea, Dewa Rai received the award during the “Incheon International Airport Cooperation Awards”. “The Best Airline of The Year” acknowledges Garuda Indonesia’s achievement in transporting more than two hundred thousand passengers to Incheon throughout 2014.
 
In addition to taking note of passenger growth, Incheon International Airport Cooperation (IIAC) also carried out assessments of an airline’s service quality and safety culture. Evaluation of service quality is based on check in handling speed, voice of customer, customer service index, baggage handling speed & adequacy index, self & web check index. Meanwhile, assessment of the “safety culture” of each airline that won the IIAC award composed of Ground Incident Index, Airport Facilities Index and Infraction of Regulation Index, as well as an audit by the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT).
 
Garuda Indonesia Wins “Outstanding Food Service in Asia 2015” Award
 
During the prestigious Airport Interior (AIX) and World Travel Catering & Onboard Services (WTCE) 2015 events held in Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday, April 15 2015, Garuda Indonesia won the “Outstanding Food Service in Asia 2015” award from Pax International Magazine. The award acknowledges Garuda Indonesia’s food service as the best in the Asian region.
 
Winners of the “Outstanding Food Service in Asia 2015” award were picked through an online balloting process from the magazine’s website that invites the participation of bloggers and twitter users from all over the world. Besides Garuda Indonesia, other winners of the award were Aeromexico, Turkish Airline, Emirates, and Etihad, eac for their respective regions.
 
Pax International Magazine is a leading source for travel industry news based in Canada that provides detailed coverage of passenger experience, cabin service, onboard catering and is the media partner of this year’s AIX and WTCE.
 
BThese awards are testament to Garuda Indonesia success in carrying out the transformation program and adds to the airline’s growing achievements, which already include among others “5-Star Airline”, “The World’s Best Cabin Crew 2014”, and “World’s Best Economy Class 2013” from SkyTrax, the world’s leading airline and airport review specialist headquartered in London. Garuda Indonesia ranked seventh in the “World’s Best Airline 2014”.
