GARUDA INDONESIA AND TOURISM AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCE MARKETING AND TOURISM PARTNERSHIP

Jakarta, 3 September 2015 - In line with the ongoing effort to develop tourism in Indonesia and Australia, Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Australia announced a marketing and promotion partnership to boost tourism in both countries. The commencement of the partnership was marked by the signing agreement between two parties in marketing and tourism partnership agreement. Acting as the signatories were Director of Commercial of Garuda Indonesia, Handayani and Regional General Manager South/ South East Asia & Gulf Countries Tourism Australia, Michael Newcombe at Garuda Indonesia’s office in Jakarta.

In accordance with the signing of the agreement, both Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Australia commit to promote Garuda Indonesia flight service to destinations in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne and Perth) and Indonesia in order to boost the tourism in both countries.

Previously in 2014, Garuda Indonesia and Tourism Australia has agreed to help strengthen the relationship between two countries by promoting Garuda Indonesia’s service flight to Australia through conventional media and social media.

The flight departs in the afternoon from Australia, arrives before midnight in Jakarta then depart to Amsterdam on the same night and arrive in Amsterdam at early morning.” Handayani added.

Regional General Manager South/ South East Asia & Gulf Countries Tourism Australia, Michael Newcombe said “We are pleased to work with one of the world’s five star airline. Indonesia is one of our potential market with the most rapid growth. This relationship is one of more example of the growing ties between businesses and people under Australia – Indonesia comprehensive partnership.”

Garuda Indonesia serves 33 flights per week to Australia (Sydney, Perth and Melbourne) from Denpasar and Jakarta. Denpasar flights to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth are served daily, while Jakarta flights to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth are served four times per week. All Garuda Indonesia’s flight is served with our award-winning “Garuda Indonesia Experience” which highlights Indonesia’s warm hospitality and rich diverse culture.
