UPDATE ON TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS TO SINGAPORE AND INDONESIA AMID COVID-19 OUTBREAK

 

Update on travel restrictions to Indonesia

The following travel restriction is applicable for passenger who would like to enter Indonesia during this COVID-19 period.

  • All new visitors who have travelled to Mainland China (not including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Indonesia (As of 26 Feb 2020). This will include travellers who transit in Mainland China to Indonesia regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in China.
  • Visa on arrival (VOA) for those with People's Republic of China passports have been suspended.
  • Visitor with People’s Republic of China passports and no travel history to Mainland China for more than 14 days and lived outside China may apply visitor visa with the Indonesia Embassy in the country which they are living in.
  • From 08 March 2020, 2359 hours, all new visitors who have travelled to:

         Iran: City of Tehran and Qom as well as the Province of Gilan

         Italy: Region of Lombardi, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche, and Piedmont

         The Republic of Korea: City of Daegu and Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do.

within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Indonesia. This will include travellers who transit in above mentioned cities/area to Indonesia regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in the above mentioned countries.

  • Visitors from outside the mentioned areas in Iran, Italy or the Republic of Korea, a health certificate issued by the official Health Authories from each respective country will be required. The health certificate must be valid and shown to the airlines authorities upon check-ins. Traveller who failed to present a valid health certificate will not be allowed to enter or transit in Indonesia.
  • Returning residents and long-term pass holders who have travelled from outside the mentioned areas in Iran, Italy and the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days will be allowed entry into Indonesia. However, this group will required additional health examination upon arrival at the airport.
  • From 19 March 2020, 2359 hours, all Visa Free Arrival and Visa on Arrival policies will be suspended for one month. All foreigner who wish to visit Indonesia during this period is required to apply Visa from the nearest Indonesia Respresentative/Embassy. Health Certicate issued by the health authority in each country must be attached with the Visa application. 
  • All visitors who have travelled to Iran, Italy, Vatican, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Indonesia. This will include travellers who transit in above mentioned cities/area to Indonesia regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in the above mentioned countries.
  • From 01 April 2020, 2359 hours, all visitors will not be allowed to enter or transit through Indonesia.
  • All Indonesian returning to Indonesia are required to complete a Health Alert Card (Kartu Kewaspadaan Kesehatan) issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia upon arrival into Indonesia.

Update on travel restrictions to Singapore 

The following travel restriction is applicable for passenger who would like to enter Singapore during this COVID-19 period.

  • All new visitors who have travelled to Mainland China (not including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. This will include travellers who transit in Mainland China to Singapore regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in China.
  • Previously issued short-term and multiple-visit visas, as well as visa-free transit facilities for those with People’s Republic of China passports, have been suspended. During this period, this group will not be allowed entry into Singapore.
  • While those with People’s Republic of China passports and no travel history to Mainland China for more than 14 days will not be able to enter Singapore, they may transit through Singapore. However, those holding People's Republic of China passports issued in Hubei (except for Singapore residents and long-term pass holders) will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore regardless of their travel history.
  • Returning residents (Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents) and long-term pass holders, including those with People’s Republic of China passports issued in Hubei, with travel history to Mainland China within the last 14 days will be allowed entry into Singapore. This group will be subjected to temperature screenings. If assessed necessary by medical staff, they will be either placed in a quarantine facility or asked to take a mandatory 14 day leave of absence.
  • From 26 February 2020, 2359 hours, all new visitors with recent travel history to Daegu and Cheongdo in South Korea within the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter Singapore, or transit through Singapore.
  • Returning residents (Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents) and long-term pass holders (including work passes and permits, Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, and Long-term Visit Pass) with recent travel history to Daegu and Cheongdo within the last 14 days will be allowed entry into Singapore. This group will be issued with a Stay-Home Notice (SHN). Under the SHN, they will have to remain in their place of residence at all times for a 14-day period after returning to Singapore.
  • From 04 March 2020, 2359 hours, all new visitors who have travelled to Iran, Northern Italy or the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. This will include travellers who transit in Iran, Northern Italy or the Republic of Korea to Singapore regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in the above mentioned countries.
  • Issuance of all form or new visas as well as previously issued short-term and multiple-visit visas for those with Iranian passports, have been suspended. During this period, this group will not be allowed entry into Singapore.
  • Returning residents (Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents) and long-term pass holders (including work passes and permits, Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, and Long-term Visit Pass) with recent travel history to Iran, Northern Italy or the Republic of Korea within the last 14 days will be allowed entry into Singapore. This group will be issued with a Stay-Home Notice (SHN). Under the SHN, they will have to remain in their place of residence at all times for a 14-day period after returning to Singapore.
  • From 15 March 2020, 2359 hours, all new visitors who have travelled to France, Germany, Italy or Spain within the last 14 days, will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. This will include travellers who transit France, Germany, Italy or Spain to Singapore regardless of the duration and whether they had cleared immigration in the above mentioned countries.
  • Returning residents (Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents) and long term pass holders (other than work pass holders) with recent travel history to France, Germany, Italy or Spain within the last 14 days will be allowed entry into Singapore. This group will be issued with a Stay-Home Notice (SHN). Under the SHN, they will have to remain in their place of residence at all times for a 14-day period after returning to Singapore.
  • Returning work pass holders (including Employment Pass, EntrePass, Personalised Employment Pass, S Pass, Work Permit, Training Employment Pass, Work Holiday Pass, Dependant’s Pass, Long Term Visit Pass.  ) with recent travel history to France, Germany, Italy or Spain within the last 14 days will be required to show the MOM approval letter to the airline staff at check in at the point of departure, and at the ICA2 checkpoint upon arrival in Singapore, to gain entry into Singapore. Upon entry, they will be issued a SHN.
  • From 16 March 2020, 2359 hours, all travellers (including Singapore Residents, Long Term Pass holders and short-term visitors) entering Singapore with recent travel history to ASEAN countries, Japan, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom within the last 14 days will be issued with a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). In additional, they will have to provide proof of the place where they will serve the 14-day SHN. 
  • All short-term visitors who are national of any ASEAN country will have to submit requisite information on their health to the Singapore Oversea Mission in the country they are resident before their intended date of travel. The submission will have to be approved by Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) before travel to Singapore, and the approval will be verified by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the Singapore checkpoints. Short-term visitors who arrive in Singapore without the necessary approval will be denied entry into Singapore.
  • From 20 March 2020, 2359 hours, all travellers (including Singapore Residents, Long Term Pass holders and short-term visitors) entering Singapore will be issued with a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). In additional, they will have to provide proof of the place where they will serve the 14-day SHN. 
  • From 23 March 2020, 2359 hours, all short-terms visitors will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore.

  • Since 4 March 2020, travellers to Singapore who exhibit fever and/or other symptoms of respiratory illness are required to undergo a COVID-19 swab test at the checkpoint, regardless of travel history. With immediate effect, all such travellers will also be issued a 14-day SHN, which they will have to serve in full even if the result of the swab test is negative. Those who meet the clinical suspect case definition will be conveyed to hospital for follow-up.
