Cengkareng, June 25nd 2019 - The national flight carrier Garuda Indonesia ensures the airway for Europe and Middle East flight routes do not pass through the airspace of Strait Hormuz, Iran, following a flight ban which issued recently by the United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) after tensions that were taking place in the airspace above the Strait of Hormuz, Iran.
Vice President Corporate Secretary Garuda Indonesia M. Ikhsan Rosan said that “We can assure that the airway for Europe and Middle East flight routes served by Garuda Indonesia do not pass through the airspace of Strait Hormuz. Thus, all Garuda Indonesia's operational services on the Europe and Middle East routes continue to be normal as usual".
"We are intensively monitoring further development of these conditions as well as coordination with all relevant stakeholders in order to ensure aspects of safety & security of Garuda Indonesia's operational services to be well maintained", concluded Ikhsan.
