GARUDA INDONESIA OPERATES NORMAL FLIGHTS TO AND FROM SOUTH KOREA
Tangerang, March 5th 2020 - The Indonesia national flight carrier Garuda Indonesia ensures that the flights to and from Incheon, Seoul, South Korea would operate normally. The statement was published in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ policy regarding the prohibition to enter and transit Indonesia for travelers which had visited to several cities in Iran, Italy, and South Korea in the last 14 days.
President & CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra explained that “Garuda Indonesia currently is intensively coordinating with relevant Ministry as well as authorities so that can be followed up properly, specifically toward preventive action that must be taken from the flight operations aspect to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 risk from other countries or cities which affected”.
Garuda Indonesia at present has 14 flights per week in total to and from Seoul which is consist of Jakarta - Seoul route vv also Denpasar - Seoul route vv. Each route serves for 7 times per week.
Garuda Indonesia consistently has done several preventive action toward anticipating the spread of Covid-19 such as sterilizing aircraft with aircraft disinfection procedure, providing hand sanitizers and masks for air crew and urgent needs of passengers, replacement of HEPA filter for aircrafts which previously operated the routes that affected by Covid-19, and routine medical check-up for air crew before departing and after arriving.
Garuda Indonesia will closely monitor the update situation over the development of Covid-19 epidemic also in coordination with relevant Ministry and authorities to take an action in case needed to prevent the Covid-19 spread.
