A Simpler, More Seamless Baggage Experience with the Piece Concept
As Garuda Indonesia enters a transition period starting 1 September 2026, all tickets purchased or issued from this date onward will follow the Piece Concept policy. Under this policy, checked baggage is calculated based on the number of baggage pieces as the basis for determining the Free Baggage Allowance for all passengers traveling on flights operated by Garuda Indonesia.
Designed with your convenience in mind, the Piece Concept makes it easier to understand your baggage entitlement before you travel. Your ticket will clearly indicate the number of bags included in your allowance, together with the maximum permitted weight for each bag, giving you greater clarity and confidence when preparing for your journey.
This enhancement is part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience. By providing clearer baggage information, we aim to make packing more convenient while supporting a faster and more seamless experience throughout your journey, from check-in to baggage collection upon arrival.
The introduction of the Piece Concept also aligns Garuda Indonesia's baggage policy with internationally recognized airline standards, providing greater consistency and convenience, particularly for passengers connecting to international flights.
