EXPLANATION ABOUT GARUDA INDONESIA GA-618 ROUTE JAKARTA – MAKASSAR
Garuda Indonesia Boeing 737-800, flight number GA-618 route Jakarta - Makassar, which departed on time at 11.00 am from Jakarta, today, Tuesday (2/6), at 14:40 local time, skidded after landing during heavy rain at Sultan Hasanuddin airport, Makassar.
All the 144 passengers and eight crew of the aircraft were safe and uninjured and evacuated from the aircraft normally.
The plane skidded about one meter along the runway. The Boeing 737-800NG PK-GFA was piloted by Capt. Nicodemus Elim, and copilot FO Ida Fiqriah.
Currently, Garuda Indonesia in cooperation with DKUPPU, the Airport Authority and other relevant authorities, are conducting a further inspection.
Runway 13/31 was closed until 16:40 local time, and all other arrivals and departures from Makassar’s Sultan Hasanuddin airport run normally used runway 03/21.
