Jakarta, March 9th 2020 – Garuda Indonesia Group by its full service airline, Garuda Indonesia and low cost carrier (LCC) airline, Citilink Indonesia starting on Sunday, March 29th 2020 will serve all flights from and toward Yogyakarta through Yogyakarta International Airport, Kulon Progo.
President & CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra explained that, “The movement of Garuda Indonesia flight from and toward Yogyakarta through Yogyakarta International Airport is the part of our efforts to improve Garuda Indonesia services through the international airport facilities.”
The flight service transfer is also part of Garuda Indonesia Group’s sustainable action to support Yogyakarta as the leading national destination in order to compete within international scale, specifically with its bigger airport capacity so that the passenger growth projections can be further optimized.
“By the operations of Garuda Indonesia Group in YIA, in the near future we hope that it will be strengthen any other potential improvement passenger services from pre-flight until post-flight with its supporting facilities from the airport that has capacity up to 20 million passengers each year”, said Irfan.
In addition, Garuda Indonesia currently serves at least 81 flights to and from Yogyakarta per week from several domestic destinations such as: Makassar, Denpasar, Balikpapan, and Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Citilink Indonesia operates 24 flights to and from Yogyakarta per week to several destinations which are Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Makassar, Palembang, Banjarmasin, and Denpasar.
In order to bring seamless accessibilities for all passengers to the airport, a wide selection of feeder transportation services is now available such as an airport train, a shuttle bus that depart from several strategic locations in the center of Yogyakarta city or from the airport.
