Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the main gateway to visit Jakarta and Indonesia for inbound international flights. Often referred to as Cengkareng Airport, it is located some 20 kilometres from downtown Jakarta. Serving around 50 million passengers annually, this airport currently has four main terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flight, Terminal 2 for international flight, Terminal 3 for low-cost carriers and the latest addition – Terminal 3 Ultimate – which will fully operate in 2017. Terminal 3 Ultimate’s modern architecture and technologically-advanced facilities are set to bring Soekarno-Hatta International Airport up to par with the world’s modern international airports.
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that the Thousand Islands are still a part of Jakarta.
For those that are not yet familiar with Jakarta, the Thousand Islands offer a variety of different activities that you can’t really do in most parts of city.
From fishing, dolphin-spotting, snorkeling, cycling, trekking, to lounging around the many beaches, the Thousand Islands is a boat ride away from the Ancol Marina in North Jakarta.
Pulau Macan
Tiger Island or Pulau Macan is one of the many islands you can visit in the Thousand Islands. Situated just 85 kilometers away mainland Jakarta, visitors can reach Tiger Island with a speed boat from Ancol Marina in one-half hours. The island’s white sandy beach, crystal clear water, and colorful corals promise a fun island getaway without having to go too far from Jakarta.
Pulau Pari
